Harvard defeated Brown at hockey yesterday afternoon at Providence by a score of 1 to 0. The small score is accounted for chiefly by the poor condition of the ice which rendered fast play impossible and by the excellent defensive work. Harvard's goal was seldom in danger, and the forwards kept the puck well within Brown's territory. The one point was made by Winsor, after a hard scrimmage in the second half.
The teams played as follows:
Harvard -- Forwards, Winsor, Laverack, Goodridge, Rumsey; coverpoint, Penhallow; point, Hardy; goal, Manning.
Brown -- Forwards, Paine, Pevear, Bates (Otis), Phillips; coverpoint, Low; point, Steere; goal, Chase.
