About twenty men went out to Hammond's Pond yesterday afternoon as candidates for the hockey team. Two scrub teams were chosen, and played against each other for over an hour. The ice was remarkably good for the first skating of the season.
Practice will be held hereafter, every afternoon when there is skating. The practice today is at Artificial pond. To get to Hammond's Pond, transfer at Boylston street to a blue Cypress street car, which passes the pond.
