The Freshman football team will probably play its first game with Exeter Academy at Exeter on Oct. 12. Good progress has been made by the squad so far, and from now on all coaching will be in charge of J. S. Lawrence '01, A. Winsor '02, J. D. Clark '03 and D. W. Knowlton '03. The men are mostly heavier than last year's freshmen candidates, and have already been divided into two sections, each of which is made up of four elevens. It is hoped that the first out-down of the squad can be made by the end of next week. The first line-ups will begin today.
At a meeting of the squad held at the Union last night, J. S. Lawrence '01 spoke on the Harvard method of defence and on various points of training.
