The Social Service Committee will hold the first of a series of open conferences in Brooks House parlor at 7.30 tonight. These conferences will be held from time to time for the purpose of discussing methods of work in Boys' Clubs, Friendly Visiting and Associated Charities Work.
At the meeting tonight Dr. Graham Taylor, professor of Christian Sociology at the Chicago Theological Seminary, will outline some of the principles which should guide men in undertaking philanthropic work. His experience as warden of the Chicago Commons Settlement enables him to speak as an authority on the sociological problems of today.
After the address, some of the men who have engaged in various forms of philanthropic work during the past year will speak in an informal way of the opportunities which Cambridge and Boston afford in that direction. The conference will be open to all members of the University.
