The University basketball team defeated the Freshman team last evening in the Gymnasium by a score of 19 to 12. The University team was composed chiefly of substitutes, and played a slow and listless game, especially in the second half when the Freshmen scored 6 points to their opponents 5.

The teams played as follows: University--c., Fenwick; r.f., Gilles; l.f., Underwood; r.g., Hanavan, Jennings; l.g., Lehmann.
