BASEBALL AFTER CLASS DAY.

The baseball team completed the season of 1900 by finally winning the Yale series in two games played after the close of the college year.

The second Yale game was played at New Haven on June 26 and was won by the brilliant work of the Harvard battery Stillman allowed but four scattered hits throughout the whole game, and Reid, though troubled with an injury to his leg, maintained his perfect fielding record.

On June 30 Harvard won the deciding game of the series, at the Polo Grounds in New York. The hard hitting of both nines made the contest an exciting one from beginning to end. Stillman kept up his good pitching and the whole team gave him excellent support. In the middle of the game Devens was hit and badly hurt by a pitched ball. His place at eft field was taken by Loughlin.

After the game W. T. Reid '01 was unanimously re-elected captain of the nine. The prize bat offered for the player having the highest average for reaching first base was awarded to E. F. Loughlin, '00, who reached first 45 times out of a possible 80.
