The three Yale crews began their training at New London yesterday morning. Dr. Gallaudet took out the University eight for about an hour, and gave them several short spurts, but the work was light and the coaching was only on general faults. The men seemed to put more life into their work than at New Haven, but the form was little better. F. G. Brown '01 coached the freshmen, but gave them only light work. The freshman crew is still unsettled, and several different arrangements will be tried before the order is settled. All the men have been allowed to break training, as it is the intention of Dr. Gallaudet to work them up to racing form gradually.
