Freshmen Win Interclass Tennis

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

In the final round of the interclass tennis tournament, W. S. Warland '03 defeated S. F. Rockwell '00, 6-3, 3-6, 7-5, 6-2, giving the tournament to the Freshmen. The match was by all odds the best played and most exciting of the tournament. Both men played a strong back court game with occasional smashes at the net. Warland was steadier and won by clever placing along the side lines. He had a very effective backhand stroke and covered his court thoroughly.

In the doubles tournament Beyer and Morley defeated Bidwell and Derby 6-3, 0-6, 8-6, qualifying for the final round.

This afternoon at 3.30, Thacher and Gray will play Scott and Derby. The winners of this match will play Cole and Rathbun to qualify for the final match with Beyer and Morley.
