In the annual pamphlet of the English department, which will soon be issued, the following new courses are announced for next year: English 40, a course in Scottish literature from Barbour to Lindesay, to be given by Dr. Neilson, a new member of the department; English 39, on the drama in England, from 1642-1900, by Professor Baker.

The following courses will be omitted: English 36, English C, English 26, English 27, English 15, English 8a and 8b, and English 33. English 17 and English 13 will be transferred to the department of comparative literature.

In the composition courses the following changes of instructors have been made: Mr. la Rose will have English 31, and Assistant Professor Gardiner will conduct English 12. The following changes of instructors have been made in the courses in literature: English 19 will be given by Dr. F. N. Robinson; English 31 by Dr. Neilson; English 32 by Dr. Robinson; English 1 by Professor Kittridge and Dr. Neilson; English 111 by Dr. Robinson; English 112 by Dr. Neilson; English 32 by Professor Wendell; English 7a by Dr. Maynadier; English 7b by Professor Baker.
