The Republican Club last night adopted a platform endorsing the administration of President McKinley and approving the following measures: The late currency bill and the other financial legislation of the administration; the protective tarriff; a rigid adherence to the principles of civil service reform and of their extension to our new possessions; state and federal control of dangerous trusts; publicity of the affairs of trusts and removal of all duty on commodities controlled by trusts; government construction of the Isthmian canal; permanent retention of the Philippines. The policy of the administration regarding the Philippines was also endorsed.
