HARVARD, 7; BOWDOIN, 5.

The Nine Wins the Most Loosely-Played Game of the Season.

In a very poorly played game, Harvard defeated Bowdoin yesterday afternoon by a score of 7 to 5. Neither side played with snap, and both teams made several errors, but this was partly due to the very cold weather. With the exception of Loughlin, the Harvard team has again fallen off in batting, and not one of Harvard's seven runs was earned.

Kernan was not quite up to form, yet he did not give a base and kept the hits well scattered until the ninth inning, when Bowdoin earned two runs. He did not show good judgment in fielding his position and made a bad throw to first. The infield did by far the poorest work that the team has done this year. Fincke and George made errors, and Kendall and Clark made mistakes in judgment which are inexcusable at this time in the season. The outfielders played well, especially Loughlin, who covered a great deal of ground and threw well to the infield. Bacon pitched well for Bowdoin and led his team in batting.
