The Senior Election Committee has adopted the following rules to govern the election of Class Day officers in accordance with the plan of 1900. The date of the election will be announced in Friday's Crimson.
1. The Australian ballot system will be used.
2. The officers, namely: Marshals, Secretary, Poet, Ivy Orator, Odist, Orator and Chorister will be elected the first day; and the Committees will be elected the second day.
3. Polls open from 8 a. m. to 5 p. m. each day.
4. ELECTORS. (a) Candidates for A. B., B. S., and fourth year specials in good standing, who have not participated in any previous Senior class election. Doubtful cases will be decided by the Office.
(b) A provisional list of voters, compiled by College officials, will be posted at Memorial, Randall, Leavitt & Peirce's, and in the CRIMSON office as soon as possible.
(c) Any person whose name does not appear on the provisional list must, in order to be entitled to vote, send a note setting forth his claims to eligibility, to the chairman of the Committee on Class Election, H. B. Clark, CRIMSON office.
NOMINATIONS. (a) Nominations may be made for any office or committee on petition of twenty voters and no more. The following form is recommended:
"We, the undersigned members of the class of 1901, desire to nominate A. B. for. "Signed,--"
(b) No person can run for more than one office and one committee. If nominated for more than one office and one committee, he must withdraw the additional nominations.
6. All nominations for offices and committees must be sent to H. B. Clark, CRIMSON office, before 9 p. m., on Sunday, Dec. 16th.
7. Nomination papers, with the twenty names attached, will be published in the CRIMSON.
8. The preliminary list of nominees will be published in the CRIMSON Dec. 17. Withdrawals from nominations must be made to H. B. Clark, CRIMSON office before 8 p. m. Monday, Dec. 17. The final list of nominees will be published in the CRIMSON.
9. If a person is elected to an office on the first day, he cannot run on the second day for a committee.
10. Every elector shall vote for three candidates for Marshals, indicating his preference for First, Second and Third Marshal. Of the three elected, that candidate receiving the highest number of votes cast for First Marshal shall be First Marshal; of the other two elected, that one whose total vote for First and Second Marshal is the greater, shall be Second Marshal; the other candidate being Third Marshal.
11. Every elector shall vote for three candidates for each committee, indicating his preference for Chairman. The three candidates receiving the highest number of votes for each committee shall be declared elected. Of these three elected that one receiving the highest number of votes for Chairman shall be the Chairman of the Committee.
12. Any ballot not containing three names for each committee will be thrown out.
