Books for Soldiers in the Field

President Eliot has received the letter which we print below from the Woman's Army and Navy League, asking for books and other reading matter for the soldiers in the field. Any contributions may be left at the CRIMSON office.

To the President of Harvard University:

DEAR SIR:--I am authorized by the Woman's Army and Navy League to address you in behalf of our soldiers in the field, who are greatly in need of reading matter. Many of the men are studying for commissions and have appealed to us for text books.

If you will kindly lay this matter before your students we feel that we may count upon a generous response. Books that have been used will be gratefully accepted and may be addressed to the Woman's Army and Navy League, office of Depot Q. M., U. S. A., 17th and F streets, N. W., Washington, D.C.
