LIGHT WORK SATURDAY.

No Regular Players in the Line-up.--First Team Makes One Touchdown.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The practice on Saturday was light. Several of the regular men were not on the field at all and in the line-up of ten minutes only substitutes took part. There was, however, a great deal of elementary work. Ellis and Stillman did some punting and all the other backs took a little practice in this department. Ellis was not at all reliable, but succeeded in getting off several long, twisting punts. A signal practice of fifteen minutes under Daly's direction was then gone through, and an attempt was made to get more speed in the plays. All of the injured men, including Kendall and Eaton, took part in the preliminary work, and all were in very good condition.

The practice game resulted in one touchdown for the first eleven, Stillman being pushed over after a hard struggle of three downs on the five yard line. The team showed some speed and accuracy, but carelessness and poor playing at critical times was still noticeable. Putnam did some excellent running for the first eleven, but the best work was done by L. Daly and Morse of the second in stopping plays. First Eleven,  Second Eleven. Clark, r.e.  l.e., Morse, Ives.
