Permission from the Penal Institutions Commissioner has been secured for an excursion of investigation to Deer Island. Members of the University who are interested in penal and practical charity subjects are cordially invited. The party will meet on Tuesday, Nov. 20, at Eastern avenue wharf in time to take the government steamer, "J. Putnam Bradise," which leaves from the north side of South Ferry at 2.15 p. m.
