On the River.

Yesterday there was the greatest activity in rowing that has been shown this season. At the Weld, in addition to the regular Junior and Sophomore crews, there was a second eight from 1903, and another which was made up for the most part of Juniors. Enough Freshmen were out to fill three barges and a practice shell, while a number more were coached in a working boat. Besides Donovan and D. D. Evans '01, who coached the men from singles, R. F. Blake '99, W. M. Ivins '01, R. H. Howe '01 and G. Bancroft '02 instructed them from the coxswain's seat.

At the Newell Club there were so many men wishing to row in singles that the equipment of the house was hardly sufficient. There were also four-oars and pairs out and four eights, which were more or less graded. It is expected that Coach Vail will arrive in Cambridge at the end of the week, and that the equipment can be moved up to the new boat house by some time next week.
