Blue-books have been placed at Leavitt & Peirce's and at Sanborn's for entries to the annual fall tournament of the Chess Club. All entries must be in by the night of the 18th. The entrance fee will be 25 cents. This tournament is open to all members of the University whether members of the Chess Club or not. The four men making the highest scores will represent Harvard in the intercollegiate games in New York during the Christmas vacation. A stein will be given to the winner of the tournament, and to the novice making the best score. Men who have played in intercollegiate or international matches are ineligible for the prizes.

The ten men making the best scores will compose the regular University team in the local matches with chess clubs in and about Boston.
