Hockey Team Defeated Brown.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Harvard hockey team defeated Brown yesterday afternoon at Providence by the score of 8 to 1. The men played together much better than they have done so far. They passed the ball very well, and the shooting for goal was accurate. During the first few minutes of play, after Harvard had scored one goal, one of the Brown players fell flat on the puck and slid between the goal posts, thereby making Brown's only score. F. J. Goodridge, who made five of the eight goals, played especially well. This is the first time that Harvard has ever beaten Brown at hockey. The team played as follows: Forwards--Laverack, F. J. Goodridge, Hoxie,(Rumsey), Beardsell (capt.); Hardy, coverpoint; Vanderpool, point; Russell, goal. S. Stoddard 1L., the captain of last year's Yale team, acted as referee.
