A Large Number of Men Respond to the Call for Candidates.

One hundred and fifty one men, the largest number in the history of Freshman rowing at Harvard, responded last evening to the call for candidates for the Freshman crew. F. L. Higginson, Jr., '00, captain of the University crew, outlined the work for the year. The candidates will be divided into four squads and they will begin training tomorrow on the weights and rowing machines in the Gymnasium. As soon as the weather permits, work will commence on the river and there will be no let up until the race on June 28. Regular coaches will be appointed after the work has been well started.
