Princeton played her first hockey game of the season on January 6 at the St. Nicholas Rink, New York, with the team of the Naval Reserves, and was defeated by the score of two goals to one.
The Princeton Club of New York, recently tendered a reception to the football team and coaches. Dinner was served in the club rooms, and a number of prominent graduates spoke.
The general statement of the treasurer of the athletic association from July to January reports the total amount of receipts $32,996.75, and the total disbursements $31,064.46, making a balance of $1,932.26 to the credit of the association. The receipts from the football games alone amounted to $21,670.43.
The annual Christmas trip of the musical clubs was more than usually successful this year. Its schedule extended from Monday, Dec. 18, to the following Monday, and included concerts in Baltimore, Washington, Pittsburg and Buffalo.
On January 10, Mr. F. Hopkinson Smith, who will lecture at Cambridge sometime during the winter under the auspices of the Cantabrigia Club, held a reading in Alexander Hall from some of his own writings. The proceeds will be used to pay the expenses of the debating team incurred by the trip to Cambridge.
