The candidates for the track team have begun the regular winter training in preparation for the Boston College and B. A. A. games. At the latter, besides by the individual entries, Harvard will be represented by two relay teams which are to compete against teams from the University of Pennsylvania and the B. A. A. There will also be class relay races. The work at present is very light, consisting merely in a few minutes' limbering up under the supervision of Mr. Lathrop, who has divided the 150 candidates into four squads, two in the morning, and two in the afternoon.
The outlook for a good team is decidedly bright. Although several consistent performers such as Quinlan, Burke and Fox have left College, yet there is a large amount of very fair material which only needs development, and a strong nucleus left over from last year.
Weights--Ellis, Brown, Boal; broad jump -- Daly, Ristine; high jump -- Rice, Rotch; hurdles -- Hallowell, Converse, Ristine; distance runs -- Grant, Bush, Clark; sprints--Greene and Sprague.
