The Harvard Co-operative Society had the most successful season of its existence during the college year 1898-99, and the recent additions and improvements to the equipments are evidence of that prosperity. The working capital is now estimated at about $25,000, which is a considerable increase over previous years. The dividend on last year's purchases will be about 7 per cent, and will be computed on purchases bearing ticket numbers to the amount of $85,000. During the college year just beginning, the society's stores--here and in Boston--will be superintended by Mr. F. H. Thomas, who was formerly in charge of the Medical School branch. The Co-operative reference lists which the society gives its members this year, are forty-page books, bound in red leather.
