Several prominent scientific societies will hold meetings in New Haven during the Christmas recess. The largest of these meetings will be that of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, which includes the affiliated societies known as the American Morphological Society, the Association of American. Anatomists, the American Physiological Society, the American Psychological Society, the American Folk Lore Society, the Society of American Naturalists, the Society of Plant Morphology, and the Association of Anthropology. Dr. Sargent will read a paper on "The Relation of the Cephalic Index of Harvard students to Weight, Height, and Strength."
The Archaeological Institute of America will be addressed by Mr. Charles P. Bowditch '63, of Boston, and Professors Seymour and Peck of Yale.
The American Chemical Society will hold its twentieth general meeting on December 27 and 28. A visit will be made to the laboratory of Wesleyan University.
The visiting scientists of all these societies will be the guests of Yale University, and all the sessions will be held in Yale auditoriums.
The Economic Society of America, which for several years has met in conjunction with the American Historical Society, will hold its meeting this year at Cornell University, Ithaca. Mr. John Graham Brooks '95 will speak on "Some Tendencies in Recent Combinations Which May Prove Dangerous."
