James Gordon Gulick '98 died December 11, at sea, near Santiago de Cuba. He went to Porto Rico as supervisor of schools under the government and was taken ill with meningitis shortly after his arrival. He was placed on board the U. S. transport Burnside to be brought to this country for better medical care, but died on the fifth day out.
