The Yale catalogue for 1899-1900 announces thirty new elective courses open to seniors and juniors. Ten of these are in philosophy, six in mathematics, six in modern languages, three in English, two in Greek, two in ancient history, and one in Assyrian. The complete enrollment in the academic department is as follows: Seniors, 326; juniors, 258; sophomores, 307; freshmen, 336; total, 1227; an increase of two over last year.
