Yesterday's Practice

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

In spite of the warm weather yesterday, the football practice was lively, and, on the whole, satisfactory. A good deal of time was spent by Lewis in perfecting the guards-back plays of the second, and as a result, Barnard and Wheeler were very successful in running with the ball. The new defense, however, recently adopted by the 'Varsity, was often very effective in breaking up the plays.

In each half of twenty-five and ten minutes, the first eleven scored two touchdowns. By two thirty-yard runs, Gierasch scored two touchdowns in the first half. In the second, Kendall made the touchdowns. Except for a couple of criss-crosses, the first eleven played straight football throughout. Reid again punted well, and by kicking the ball higher, gave the ends more time to get down the field.

Boal's leg is improving steadily, so that he was able to do some running yesterday. The coaches assisting at the practice were: R. W. Emmons, G. Adams, N. W. Cabot and W. H. Lewis.

The line-up follows: First.  Second. Campbell, l.e.  r.e., Hoxre. Donald, Blagden, l.t.  r.t., Peyton. Hollingsworth, l.g.  r.g., Barnard. A. R. Sargent, l.g.  r.g., Stevenson. C.
