Professor Arthur Twining Hadley will be inaugurated President of Yale University today. The ceremonies will begin at two o'clock, when the graduates and guests will be marshalled in four divisions. In the first will be the President and the Corporation of Yale, presidents and professors of other universities and principals of high schools and academies.
In the second division will be the representatives of the federal and state governments, governors, bishops and other invited guests. The third division will be made up of the general body of graduates in the order of their graduation, and the fourth will be composed of the university faculties and former members of those faculties.
These divisions will proceed to Battell Chapel and will enter simultaneously by the four entrances. J.H. Twichell, Yale '59, as senior member of the Corporation, will deliver the oath of office. After the ceremonies have been finished and President Hadley has delivered his inaugural address, the guests will go to the Art School, where President Hadley will hold a reception.
The part of the undergraduates in the celebration will be a torchlight parade and bon-fire at eight o'clock in the evening. They will be divided by classes and each class and department will wear distinguishing caps and gowns.
The following Harvard professors will be present: President C.W. Eliot, Dean L.B.R. Briggs, Dr. F.G. Peabody, and Professors F.W. Taussig, W.J. Ashley, C.R. Lanman, and J.W. Platner.
