The United States Civil Service Commission announces that on June 15, 1898, examination for the grade of cadet in the Revenue Cutter Service, Treasury Department, may be taken at any city in the United States where the Commission has a competent board of examiners. This examination will consist of the subjects named below, which are weighted as follows:

General geography, 8

General history, 8

Literature, 4

Grammar, composition and rhetoric, 8

Arithmetic, 12

Algebra, 12

Geometry, 12

Trigonometry, and elements of surveying, 12
