Tennis Finals Yesterday.

D. F. Davis 1900 won the spring tennis tournament yesterday, defeating R. A. Bidwell '99 three straight sets, 6-0, 6-2, 10-8. Bidwell was helpless in the first two sets; he continually drove into the net or out of the court, while Davis played a slow, steady game, never allowing himself to be pushed and with Bidwell fully under his control.

In the third set Bidwell played a much steadier game, while Davis became careless. With the games six all, both players settled down to work and some very pretty tennis resulted, with several brilliant rallies.

P. L. Miller '99 won from W. H. Laverack 1901 in the semi-finals of the consolations yesterday morning, 7-5, 6-3. Laverack played a steady game but was defeated by the superior placing of his adversary.

In the afternoon, Miller beat W. G. Clerk 1901, 6-3, 6-2, thus winning the finals of the consolations. Miller played a very careful game, never smashing, but placing every ball. Clerk's game was distinctly erratic.
