HARVARD QUARTERS, NEW LONDON, June 15.- This afternoon Kernan went in at 2 in the 'Varsity boat, taking the place of Blake who has been in poor condition for the past few days.
In the Freshman boat Whitney has been troubled by a sore throat and was replaced today by J. S. Lawrence. Lawrence in turn broke down tonight and the 'Varsity was compelled to go over the time row without the Freshmen. The time for the course rowed was fair. The men rowed back in short stretches and as a whole showed good form, although Kernan was slow in following stroke.
"Bob" Cook called at Red Top in the afternoon and J. J. Storrow '85 and Minton '87 also visited at the quarters today.
The launch Frank Thompson may be ready for use tomorrow.
