The announcement of courses for 1898 in the Summer School contains one new course in English and one in Greek and new courses in astronomy and psychology. A course in chemistry has been dropped.
Nine courses may be taken towards the degree of A. B. or S. B., each course counting as a half-course. Three are in Mathematics by Mr. Ashton and Mr. Love, solid geometry, plane trigonometry and plane analytic geometry; one in experimental physics by Assistant Professor Sabine; one in elementary geology by Dr. Ladd; two in geological field and research work by Professor Shaler and assistants; and two in engineering by Mr. Turner, topographical surveying and railroad engineering, with field work at Martha's Vineyard. The last mentioned course can count only for the degree of S. B.
