Individual Golf Championship Won.

J. F. Curtis '99, captain of the Harvard golf team won the intercollegiate individual championship on the Ardsley links Saturday, defeating John Reid, Jr., of Yale in the finals, by 5 holes and 4 to play. His victory was due to his remarkable accuracy in judging his approaching and putting shots, as the Yale man usually drove much further.

In the first round on Friday the following men qualified: Curtis, Barger, Cutting and Choate, of Harvard; Betts, Reid and Terry of Yale, and Vanderpool of Princeton, who was obliged to play off a tie with Sargent and Burden of Harvard. Bayard of Princeton, last year's champion, failed to qualify.

In the next round, Curtis beat Vanderpool, Terry beat Choate, Betts beat Barger and Reid beat Cutting. In the semi-finals, Saturday morning, Curtis defeated Terry by four holes and three to play, and Reid defeated Betts two up. This left Curtis and Reid to play the finals which resulted in a victory for the Harvard man.
