Thirteen men spoke last night in the trial debate to choose the team to represent the Freshmen in the interclass debate with the Sophomores to be held on May 16. The following men were chosen: J. C. Mangan, D. C. Hirsch, J. H. A. Symonds, with V. Custis alternate. The judges were: L. E. Guillow '98, G. J. Holliday 1 L., and W. A. Adams '98. The question was "Resolved, That the United States should abandon its policy of international isolation."
The speeches were defective in form and the rebuttals noticeably lacking, otherwise the speaking was creditable and to the point.
