NEW CREW CAPTAIN.

Goodrich Resigns and J. H. Perkins '98 Elected in His Place.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

After the class races on April 16, D. M. Goodrich '98 resigned voluntarily from the captaincy of the 'Varsity crew. J. H. Perkins '98 was elected captain in his place. Goodrich is no longer a candidate for the 'Varsity crew.

The resignation has surprised the college and has caused much talk and speculation. It was the consequence of the conclusion reached by the coaches and by Goodrich himself that he was not physically able to row a four mile race. In Mr. Lehmann's phrase he has acted in accordance with his own high sense of what was the right thing to do.
