Mr. Lehmann has presented the University Boat Club with a pair-oar tubbing boat similar to those purchased last year. The boat was built by Phelps, the builder of the boats used by the Leander crews, and has just arrived from England.

Mr. Mumford and Mr. Storrow both coached the '98 crew yesterday.

In the Junior boat Hodges at 4 was replaced by Donald. The crew praciticed starts, and ended the afternoon's work by a short brush with the '99 Weld. The regular crew won.

Mr. Lehmann went out in a pair-oar with Biddle 1900, early in the afternoon. He also watched the 1900 crew from the launch.

The Freshman crew had three close brushes with the 1901 Weld, of which it lost two.

The old '98 shell, used in the class races last year, was rigged up and transferred from the 'Varsity to the Weld boat house yesterday. The club will buy the boat and rent it to 1900 Weld crew for this season.
