The Winter Tennis Club of Newton will hold its annual indoor tournament at Bray's Hall, Newton Centre, the week beginning March 14. The tournament will be played for the indoor tennis championship of the United States. The winner of the tournament this year will have the privilege of standing out next year and may be challenged by the winner of that year.
Singles and doubles are to be played. First and second prizes will be given, and a championship cup has been offered for the singles, which must be won three times before becoming the winner's property. Matches will be best two in three sets, except in the finals, which will be best three in five.
The entrance fee for singles will be one dollar, and for doubles two dollars for each pair. The fees must be sent to the secretary, W. H. Rice, Newton Centre, on or before Thursday evening, Mar. 10.
