THE D. U. PLAY.

The Delta Upsilon has chosen this year for its annual theatrical performance an Elizabethan comedy, "The Shoemaker's Holiday," by Thomas Dekker. The play was published in 1599, and was first acted before Queen Elizabeth, during the Christmas season of that year, by the Lord High Admiral's servants.

The play abounds in bright dialogue and amusing situations, and affords a remarkably clear insight into the picturesque London street-life of the day. The morris-dance is to be performed, and the incidental lyrics will be sung, to Elizabethan music.

There will be two performances of the play in Cambridge, and one in Boston. Owing to the fact that Brattle Hall is engaged for the desired dates, and that it is impossible to secure evening rehearsals there, the Pi Eta Society has allowed the use of its theatre on the evenings of April 28 and 29. The Boston performance will take place at the Bijou Theatre, Saturday evening, April 30. Tickets will be placed on sale at Herrick's in Boston and Thurston's in Cambridge within a few days; or applications, enclosing the price, one dollar, may be made to the business manager, F. L.
