Owing to the cold weather the 'Varsity nine has not played practice games of late, but has limited its work entirely to the regular fielding and batting.
Yesterday afternoon a change was made in the recent make-up of the infield. Clark, who has been playing first base, was put on third and McCornick, last year's Freshman pitcher, was tried at first. McCornick did some good throwing and proved to be a fair man on receiving thrown balls, although he is clearly inexperienced in playing the position. Clark seems to be improving in his throw, getting it off in better style than he did some time ago. His fielding was clean and fast.
The practice as a whole was vigorous, and though short served to give the men enough work for a good warming up.
