"An Elusive Lover," by Virna Woods (Houghton, Mifflin and Co.) is a short, interesting love story with a clever plot. The characters are few and almost without exception essential to the plot. The scene is laid in California, in and about Los Angeles.
The idea of a dual personality is a daring one with which to deal, but the anthor has taken it for the foundation of her story and used it simply and effectively.
The writer has described well the absolute separation of the two personalities and their ultimate union through the power of love. The mystery is carried through the story and the clearing up is satisfactory.
