The best rifle shooting at the club shoot on Saturday was a 71, by Vanderbilt, a very creditable score, as it was done with a light hunting rifle. The best pistol and revolver scores were again made by Taylor, with a 90 and an 87 respectively.
The most active members of the club have been divided into two squads, to shoot on alternate Saturdays, though any man may of course go out every week if he wishes. It is thought that by this arrangement of calling out certain men by name each week the practice can be made more systematic and general. Moreover the range captain can direct the shooting better if all do not go at once.
Before any arrangements can be made to shoot other clubs or to compete in the Sportman's Exhibition in March, it is necessary to find out just what material is available, and to have some regular practice. Thus every man is urged to notice the special calls each week, and to come out if he possibly can when his turn comes.
