The Yale eight were prevented from taking their first practice on the Hudson yesterday morning as they arrived too late Sunday night to unpack their shells. The shells were taken ashore as early as practicable and were found to have sustained no injury during their transportation from New London. The morning was spent in rigging them and getting them ready for the afternoon practice.
