Ellery H. Clark L. S. won the all-round athletic championship of New England on Saturday afternoon at the Irvington Oval. The score made by Clark of 6395 1-4 points beats the best previous American record, which was 6189 points. W. D. Hennen '98 was fourth with a total of 2581.
The events contested were the 100 yards dash, 120 yards high hurdle race, mile run, running high jump, running broad jump, putting 16 pound shot, throwing 16 pound hammer, throwing 56 pound weight, throwing the discus, and pole vault. Of these Clark won all but the dash, hurdle and mile run. Clark will compete for the national championship in New York on July 5.
