POUGHKEEPSIE, N. Y., June 18.- As Mr. Lehmann did not return from New York until noon today, the 'Varsity rowed without coaching this morning. The Freshmen rowed a short time in the morning, coached by Mr. Storrow, and seem to be making steady improvement.

This afternoon, Alfred Cowles, Yale '88, Caspar Whitney, Harry Beecher and the Beard brothers of Yale visited the quarters. Mr. Lehmann had the 'Varsity out for about two hours this afternoon, the crew showing grace and evenness in the short stretches rowed. The Cornell 'varsity and freshman eights both look well, and the river is lively now with the crews each rowing twice a day.
