The following is the summary of matches played by Harvard men in the State tennis tournament at Longwood yesterday. The surprises of the day were the victories of Leo Ware '99 over M. D. Whitman '99, and of R. H. Carleton '98 over A. Codman '98.

J. H. Case defeated H. L. Ewer 1900, 6-0, 7-5.

D. Farrington 1900 defeated Irving Chapman, 6-3, 6-3.

First Round.M. D. Whitman '99 defeated Y. M. Edwards, 6-2, 6-0.

R. H. Carleton '98 defeated A. Codman, 5-7, 6-4, 6-4.

Beals Wright defeated S. M. Pierce '99, 7-5, 7-5.

H. Ward 1900 defeated H. B. Hollings, 6-2, 6-2.

Third Round.R. H. Carleton '98 defeated A. S. Pierce, 7-5, 6-3.

Leo Ware '99 defeated M. D. Whitman '99, 6-4, 6-3.

H. Ward 1900 defeated Beals Wright, 6-4, 6-3.
