Exeter defeated Andover at Exeter on Saturday afternoon by the score of 12 to 6. The game was witnessed by three thousand persons.

Exeter started the game by making five runs, and, although the Andover team did its best to overcome this lead, Exeter was never headed. Carter pitched a strong game for Exeter and received excellent support. Stevenson, of Andover, pitched well, but the support of his outfield was very unreliable. Lawton, of Exeter, played a good all-round game, making several difficult catches. The score by innings follows:

Innings. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9

Exeter, 5 0 0 2 1 0 0 1 3-12

Andover, 2 0 0 2 0 0 0 2 0-6

Base hits-Exeter 12, Andover 6; errors-Exeter 2, Andover 7.
