A handsome memorial tablet has been inserted in the wall of the Fogg Art Museum, at the head of the first flight of stairs. The inscription reads as follows:
THE WILLIAM HAYES FOGG ART MUSEUM OF HARVARD COLLEGE, Founded by Elizabeth Fogg, in memory of her husband, to be used for the collection and exhibition of works of art of every description, and for the education and enlightenment of the people in respect to art and the works of artists.
MDCCCXCV.Several invoices of photographs of pictures by the German masters and antiquities in the Louvre, Paris, are now on their way to the Museum from abroad.
