CRICKET GAME.

Harvard vs. Haverford at Longwood This Morning.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

This morning at 11 o'clock the second intercollegiate cricket match will take place between Harvard and Haverford at Longwood.

This year Harvard has the unprecedented record of winning all five games played, scoring 412 runs to its opponents' 297. The three best batting averages in these games are: Adams, 24; Haughton, 14; and Comfort, 11. Harvard's great strength lies in her bowlers, Adams, Du Pont, Hastings and Comfort.

The Haverford eleven has played but two matches this year, a draw with the Philadelphia Cricket Club, and a defeat at the hands of Penn., by the score of 149 to 117. In the latter game the Haverford men getting double figures were: Lester, 34; Hinchman, 29; and Tattnall, 13. The bowlers for Haverford are: Lester, Haines, Mifflin, Wendell and Tattnall.

In bowling, Harvard has a slight advantage, but in batting Haverford has the benefit of long indoor batting practice. Their fielding and team work is also better than Harvard's. The mainstay of Haverford, both in bowling and batting, is Lester, who in three previous games with Harvard has the strong batting average of 59.5.

In the last seven games with Haverford, Harvard has won four matches, losing three, and scoring 662 runs to Haverford's 755. In 1890, '91 and '92, Harvard defeated Haverford in very close games, but of late Haverford has succeeded in defeating Harvard decisively.

The make-up of the two elevens is as follows:

Haverford-A. B. Mifflin, T. Wistar, J. A. Lester, W. S. Hinchman, S. W. Mifflin, C. G. Tattnall, A. Haines, H. H. Lowry, A. G. Scattergood, S. Wendell, C. H. Houston.

Harvard-Adams, Scattergood, Du Pont, Hastings, Drinkwater, Comfort, Perkins, Webster, Haughton, Carleton, Gray.
