'Varsity vs. College Crew.

The 'Varsity crew rowed a two-mile race against the College eight yesterday afternoon, and beat them by about three lengths.

At the start the 'Varsity boat jumped ahead, and at the half mile lead by slightly over a length. Then the College crew picked up again, and for a mile there was a hard race, each crew gaining alternately, the College eight perhaps drawing up slightly. When about half a mile below the Harvard bridge, the College crew went to pieces, several of the men caught crabs, and the boat almost stopped. The 'Varsity at once drew ahead and finished with nearly two lengths of clear water between the crews. The men rowed in the following order:

'Varsity-Stroke, Boardman; 7, Good-rich; 6, Perkins; 5, Wrightington; 4, Sprague; 3, Whitbeck; 2, Thompson; bow, Marvin.

College Crew-Stroke, Bull; 7, McDuffie; 6, Blake; 5, Moulton; 4, Donald; 3, Hollister; 2, Swift; bow, Dibblee.

J. H. Perkins rowed for a time in a pair-oar with Sprague. This is the first work Perkins has done since he had to lay off on account of his strained side.
