How Cambridge’s Political Power Brokers Shape the 2025 Election
Yesterday afternoon, for the first time since last Thursday, the 'Varsity nine practiced on Holmes Field, and, judging from the snappy playing, the men were none the worse for their Princeton trip. After the regular practice a four-inning game was played, which the 'Varsity won-3-0. Fitz, who pitched for the 'Varsity, received perfect support and was found for only one hit. The 'Varsity, on the other hand, batted well, hitting Jenney almost at will.
The best plays of the afternoon were a double play by Chandler, Dean and Haughton, and a running catch of a fly ball in deep centre by Dayton. The make-up of the nines was:
'VARSITY. COLLEGE.
Rand, l. f. 2b., Holt.
Haughton, 1b. l. f., Sears.
Beale, c. f. 3b., Litchfield.
Scannell, c. 1b., Foster.
Stevenson, 3b. s. s., McVey.
Burgess, r. f. r. f., Galbraith.
Dean, 2b. c. f., Dayton.
Chandler, s. s. c., Davis.
Fitz, p. p., Jenney.
