Man Who Managed Clients for High-End Cambridge Brothel Network Pleads Guilty
Harvard was defeated by Yale in the dual track games on Saturday afternoon by the score of 80 to 24 points. Yale won 10 first, 10 second and 10 third places, while Harvard got only 3 first, 3 second, and 3 third. In 6 of the 13 events Yale won first, second, and third places. This defeat, the worst one that Harvard has ever suffered on the track, was as surprising as it was overwhelming. The team felt confident of winning when they left for New Haven, but the hard races in the Pennsylvania games and the time trials on Tuesday seemed to take all the speed out of them. The men on the whole had no snap or vigor, and their opponents were very evidently in much better physical condition.
Owing to the poor condition of the track, no intercollegiate records were broken, and the time in all the runs was generally slow. One record, that of Yale, was broken by Merwin, who, in the high jump cleared six feet two and a quarter inches, leaving Morse and Rice tied for second place.
One of the greatest disappointments was Grant's poor showing in the mile run. He was expected by Harvard to win five points but instead, he allowed himself to be outgeneraled by the Yale men, and did not get a place. Spitzer, a Yale man, set a very fast pace which Grant held for two laps. Spitzer then dropped out exhausted and the Yale men, passing Grant, easily won all three places. Another disappointment was Hoyt's inability to win any points in the pole vault.
Yale also got the best of the field events, winning all the places except first in the shot, second in the hammer, and third in the broad jump.
In the two dashes, Harvard had two men only in the finals, and neither of them succeeded in winning a point. Morse and Warren won places in the trial heat of the low hurdles, and in the finals Morse pushed Perkins hard for first place, but was just beaten out, winning second place by a good margin.
The high hurdles and the bicycle race were two of the six events in which Harvard did not get a point.
Of the Harvard men who won points, Hollister and E. H. Clark once more showed that they are capable of consistent performances, under any circumstances. The rest of the creditable work was done by Shaw, Morse, A. N. Rice and Fish.
